8-HOUR DRIVER SAFETY COURSE
Course Description
Who Should Attend?

This course is offered in English, Spanish and Polish. Please indicate your preferred language when filling out your registration form.

8-Hour Driver Safety Course (DSC-8)
The 8-Hour Driver Safety Course is based on the concept that if drivers learn to drive safely, they will lower their chances of dying or being injured in a vehicle collision. Each year, over 10,000 students throughout Illinois learn the basics of safer driving by attending the 8-Hour Driver Safety Course.

The comprehensive 8-Hour Driver Safety Course curriculum is based on the most recent research on preventing deaths and injuries and uses training techniques that reinforce information learning by students.

The 8-Hour Driver Safety Course includes lecture, discussion, videos, exercises and scenarios.

The 8-Hour Driver Safety Course is conducted in two four-hour sessions. Classes may be held on two consecutive evenings or all day on a weekday or Saturday.

Only Traffic Safety School certified Instructors may teach the 8-Hour Driver Safety Course.

Who Should Attend?
The 8-Hour Driver Safety Course is designed to meet the needs of various audiences:

  • Court Referrals - drivers who wish to attend a driver safety course after receiving a traffic violation but who are not eligible for the 4-hour Driver Safety Course.
  • Corporations - employees driving company vehicles.
  • General Public - citizens interested in improving their everyday driving skills.
