Accessing the Online Course

Who Can Attend the Online 4-Hour Driver Safety Course?
If you are currently scheduled for the classroom version of the 4-Hour Driver Safety Course, you may be eligible to switch to the online version.

Please note that certain Illinois County Courts do not accept or place restrictions on accepting any online driver improvement courses.

At this time in Cook County, IL defendants who are 18 years of age or older at the time the ticket was issued and who have not enrolled in or attended a driver safety course in the previous 12 months may take the Online 4-Hour Driver Safety Course.

In Jefferson County, IL and Shelby County, IL, defendants may take the Online 4-Hour Driver Safety Course if they have not enrolled in or attended a driver safety course within the previous 12 months.

Switch from Classroom to Online
To switch from the classroom version to the Online 4-Hour Driver Safety Course, follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the online course website at nutrafficschool.org.
  2. Select the appropriate language. The online course is offered in English, Spanish and Polish.
  3. In the "Online Payment" box, click "Make a Payment Online".
  4. Enter your login ID and driver's license number and click "Enter". Your login ID and driver's license number are included in the information sent to you by Traffic Safety School.
  5. Click "Click Here to Pay" to be taken to the credit card payment screen.
  6. Enter your credit card information and click "Continue".
  7. Enter your billing address and click "I authorize this transaction".
  8. A confirmation screen will appear. This confirmation contains the login ID, password and PIN needed to sign into the online course.
    1. If you need to access your password and/or PIN at a later date, click here and enter your login ID and driver's license number as provided to you in the information sent to you by Traffic Safety School.

Once you have completed the steps above, you are enrolled in the online version of the 4-Hour Driver Safety Course and are no longer required to participate in the classroom version of the course. Traffic Safety School is notified automatically.

Accessing the Online 4-Hour Driver Safety Course
Click here to login to the online course site using the login ID, password and PIN provided to you on the online payment confirmation screen.

If you need to be reminded of your password and/or PIN, click here and enter your login ID and driver's license number as provided to you in the information sent to you by Traffic Safety School
